Bhupinder is better known as ‘Pip’ and is an individual member. She is a primary school teacher and a published author. Many know Pip as a fantastic cook and an avid fundraiser for good causes.

TK has a long history of volunteering and working as a Trustee for CHAWREC. He is currently supporting our Syrian refugee families in Cheshire.
Eric Bowers
Trustee
Eric is a representative from the Chester Baha’i Community. He is an experienced businessman and works as a self employed construction consultant.
Martin Meredith
Treasurer
Martin has recently joined the organisation filling a casual vacancy and taking over the role of Treasurer. He is involved in several other charities, including the Civic Trust and he has extensive experience of financial matters, having retired from senior financial management and acted as treasurer for other local charities.
Elizabeth Bott
Director & Trustee
Elizabeth is a representative of Chester Asian & Minorities Community Council, but she is also involved in several other charities locally. A retired social worker she was a founding member of the organisation and has extensive experience in equality work.
Abdun Noor
Director & Trustee
Abdun is a representative of Chester Asian & Minorities Community Council and a local business man, best known for being the owner of the very popular Chester Tandoori.
Shamla Naidu
Director & Trustee
Shamla is an individual member. She has been secretary for the REC in recent years and currently works for a large international company, where she is a trusted PA to a senior manager.
Hammideh Brice
Director & Trustee
Hammideh lived for 12 years in Iran (1973-1985) and moved back to Britain between air raids. She speaks some Farsi (Persian). Last year she went on the Haj – a great experience! Other experience includes bringing up her family, 5 years working at West Cheshire College supporting students with learning difficulties and disabilities and 11 years as a Senior Project Worker supporting homeless women at Lightways – the Chester Women’s Hostel Association.
John Morrow
Director and Trustee
John has recently graduated from the University of Chester with a BA (Hons) in Law with International Development. He is currently studying for a PhD in the area of discrimination law, which is examining the deliverance of law degrees to students with specific learning difficulties in light of the Equality Act 2010.
Specialist Advisers to the REC
Specialist advisers to CHAWREC are not trustees or directors, but people who have a special relationship with the organisation and are prepared to give up time to provide support and advice to the organisation in a specialist subject area.
Chantal Davies
Specialist Adviser
Chantal is solicitor with extensive experience of discrimination work. She currently works for the University of Chester as Senior Lecturer and Module Leader in Public Law, Human Rights and Discrimination as well as leading the development of FRED (Forum for Research into Equality and Diversity) at the University.
Paras Gorasia
Specialist Adviser
Paras has over 10 years experience advising and representing parties before the Employment Tribunal and Civil Courts. He is regularly instructed on strategically important, high value, complex and reputationally sensitive disputes involving leading corporates, government bodies and senior executives. He is particularly known for his ability as a cross-examiner, his technical ability and his commercial nous.
