Our Trustees are legally responsible for the organisation. They are Trustees for the purposes of charity law and directors for the purposes of company law.

TK Al Jorani

TK has a long history of volunteering and working as a Trustee for CHAWREC. He is currently supporting our Syrian refugee families in Cheshire.

Bhupinder Virdee Lace

Bhupinder is better known as ‘Pip’ and is an individual member. She is a primary school teacher and a published author. Many know Pip as a fantastic cook and an avid fundraiser for good causes. She runs monthly cookery classes at the CommUnity Cafe.

Ivan has been working in the field of corporate service and business consultancy for almost 20 years in Hong Kong and the UK. As the founder of a Hong Kong community group in Chester, he has worked with a wide range of stakeholders in the region and also nationality to support integration of Hong Kong diaspora in the UK. 

Shamla Naidu

Shamla is an individual member. She has been secretary for the REC in recent years and currently works for a large international company, where she is a trusted PA to a senior manager.

ROB HERD

Trustee Board member.
Experience & Skills
Rob is a local teacher and is Head of Modern Foreign Languages at Hope Academy in Newton-le-Willows. Rob is an active volunteer around Chester. He currently sits of the board of governors at Boughton Heath Academy and is also a parish councillor on Great Boughton & Vicars Cross Parish Council. He was also a founding member of the Chester-based Out of Office LGBTQ+ networking group.

Rob lives in Great Boughton with his partner, Mark, and his Welsh Springer Spaniel, Tegan. In his free time, Rob enjoys reading, films, knitting and learning his seventh language, Mandarin.

Karen dickson

Trustee Board member and Secretary.
Experience & Skills
Since retiring from teaching, Karen has been please to support CHAWREC as an ESOL tutor and as a volunteer, supporting other tutors and running a weekly Craft and Chat group.

SEEMA BURHANI

Trustee Board member
Experience & Skills
Seema is a senior engineering professional with over 25+ years industry and corporate management experience. Her progressive career history spans across manufacturing and additive manufacturing industry. She has been on board of Tech Startup in the field of 3D Printing in addition to some of the other business roles.  
Seema is supporting CHAWREC in its IT management and training systems related areas.
